Your choice comes first.

The app asks before sharing optional diagnostics or online presence. Both boxes start unchecked. You can use Coda with both turned off. Revisit Settings → Profile → Beta privacy to change your choices.

Optional diagnostic summaries

Coda sends aggregate playback-attempt, success, failure, cancellation and stall counts; total and maximum loading time; verification/timeout/media-error counts; app version; OS family (Windows/macOS/Linux); and a broad RAM-size bucket. Each summary has a random ID used only to avoid duplicate delivery.

No song titles, artist names, song IDs, audio, search queries, playlists, account details, cookies, file paths, crash dumps or saved IP addresses are included. Summaries are sent over HTTPS to Coda's Cloudflare Pages service every five minutes while the app is running. Offline summaries retry later. The first run after the preview also uploads a remaining consented summary; the endpoint accepts these until 17 November.

Server-side summaries are retained for 30 days and used to prioritise playback and performance fixes. Turning reports off deletes unsent local summaries and stops future reports. Already submitted anonymous summaries remain until retention expiry; they cannot be linked back to an account.

Optional online presence

If enabled, the app sends a random per-run session ID every 30 seconds. It contains no account or device ID. The website counts sessions seen during the last 90 seconds. This is a count of consenting active app sessions, not all installations or site visitors. Presence stops after the preview ends.

Download counts

The website counts installer requests served from Coda's storage. HEAD requests and resumed ranges are excluded. This measures downloads served, not unique people or completed installations. No visitor identifier is stored for this counter.

Local logs and delivery

Local troubleshooting logs stay on your computer and can contain song names, device information or file paths. They are not uploaded by beta reporting. Cloudflare processes connection metadata, including IP addresses, to deliver the service; Coda's reporting database does not store these addresses.

End of the preview

The collected summaries will be reviewed for loading failures, verification errors, slow starts and stalls. Fixes depend on the findings; the end date does not guarantee every upstream song becomes available.
